Thailand is making intensive preparations to host the 2026 IMF–World Bank Group Annual Meetings.

On 8 July 2026, representatives from the Fiscal Policy Office, the Ministry of Finance, the Bank of Thailand, and other relevant agencies participated in the first meeting of the Subcommittee on Substance for the preparation of the Annual Meetings. The meeting was chaired by Mr. Ekniti Nitithanprapas, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance. This was followed by the first meeting of the Subcommittee on Protocol and Logistics, also convened to prepare for the 2026 Annual Meetings. The meeting was co-chaired by Mr. Ekniti Nitithanprapas, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance; Mr. Lavaron Sangsnit, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Finance; and Mr. Vitai Ratanakorn, Governor of the Bank of Thailand, at Meeting Room 401, 4th Floor, 150th Anniversary Building, Ministry of Finance.

These two meetings reflect the strong collaboration, commitment, and coordinated efforts of all relevant stakeholders in preparing across all dimensions of the event, underscoring Thailand’s readiness to successfully host one of the world’s most important global economic and financial gatherings and deliver a memorable experience for participants from around the world.
